Are You Generous?

This year I am trying to put more focus on ways that I can be GeneRouS. If this is an area that you struggle with, the holidays offer plenty of opportunities to GiVe. Offer to help an elderly neighbor with their holiday shopping. Buy a giftcard and give it to a stranger. Have a love for music? Go carol a family and friend that is in need of a pick-me-up. Can’t think of anything you want for Christmas? Instead, donate the money to a family in need. It doesn’t take much to brighten the life of another. Be creative and have fun with it!

Make this holiday season the BEST one yet by being generous and reaching out to anyone that you meet!

Super Easy Spinach Ball Recipe

I tried these spinach balls at a Christmas party and just had to get the recipe.  They were DeLicIoUs and I was thrilled to find out how EaSy they were to make!  They are now my “go to” recipe when I need to bring an appetizer anywhere and am short on time!

Spinach Balls Recipe:

  • 2 cups of dry stuffing mix
  • 1 cup of grated Parmesan cheese

Cook spinach and drain well.  Combine all ingredients.  Chill in refrigerator at least two hours.  Roll into one inch balls.  Place on cookie sheet.  Bake at 350 degrees for 10-15 minutes or until slightly browned.

Use The Resources You Have

If you’ve been following our blog you may have seen me talk about dealing with an “All-Or-Nothing” mindset.  I struggle with this thinking and am diligently working to change this crazy TrAiN Of ThouGht.  Here is one thing that is helping me out a GreAt dEaL.  I recently have adopted the thinking, “Use The Resources You Have”.  I actually say this to myself and Lara & I talk about it often.  This gives me “PerMisSiOn” to continue on even when the situation is not “PeRfEcT”.

So what, that I’ve MeSsEd uP, had a rough day, got off to a bad start or things just aren’t going like they are suppose to go?  I ReFuSe to have the mindset, “May as well throw in the towel for today.  I’ll start again tomorrow.”  I won’t mess up the rest of my day with that notion.  Instead I’ll use the resources I have.  In this case, it is the ReSt oF tHe DaY – completely free of mistakes and disappointments.  Who knows what good thing may be just around the corner?

What are you lacking in?  Time, inspiration, money, education, energy, health, a good childhood, etc.  It really doesn’t matter.  What matters is what you Do HaVE.

I don’t know if this advice will help you, but it sure has helped me.  Do I have this MaSteReD?  No, but I’m a work in progress.  A LittLe At a TiMe.

“Committing Your Goal To Paper” – The Challenge (Wk 5)

We’ve been talking about dreams & goals for a month now and hopefully you have something in mind that you would like to achieve.  Its now time to get that dream/goal down on paper.  That’s right, on paper.  I’ve heard and read on multiple occasions that there is a much greater likelihood of achieving your goal if you have it written down on paper and in front of you often.  When you do, it becomes a driving force in your life and a target to aim for.  Not only is it important to get your goal on paper, it is also important to assign a date that you would like to accomplish your goal by.  Are you ready to commit your dream to paper?  The following table will help you do just that.  Here are a few tips to help you complete the table:

  • Be as specific as possible
  • Try to include all the steps you will have to take to accomplish your goal.  Include things such as gathering information, researching on the internet, searching people out who have done what it is you want to do, etc.
  • Once you finish the table you will be asked to list your resources for fulfilling your goal and the obstacles that you will need to overcome.  Take some time to give this some thought.  Have a friend help you as they will be able to think of things that you might miss.
