It’s Never Too Late

Well, we are over half way through Lent and I wish I could tell you that this year’s experience was the best one ever. Unfortunately I’ve struggled a bit this year, and to be honest, there is no good excuse why. I always have GOOD intentions throughout the day but life seems to be too big of a distraction to F O C U S on God. How sad is that!? It’s easy to feel guilty for not spending enough time with God and not giving Him the thanks He deserves, for my bLeSSinGs are plentiful. At this point it would be easy to pack it in this spring and try again this Christmas…

LUCKLY, God knows our hearts and if we are paying attention, he will give us the MoTiVaTiOn we need to keep going. Doug and I were reading our nightly “Word Among Us” meditations and the reading couldn’t have spoken more directly to me.

“…we can begin to experience God’s presence and grace as a tiny trickle that grows wider and deeper as we yield to it. As we wade more deeply into his life, we can experience God nourishing us and healing us…We will prosper in this river, for it promotes and supports every sort of life, even lives like ours! …Why not step into the river today? Ask Jesus to lead you. He will start you gently, in the shallow end, where the water is ankle deep. And every day he will take you one step further, bringing you into ever-deepening waters that can HEAL, empower, forgive, and restore you. Just follow his lead each day and soon enough, you’ll be swimming!”

No matter how fast Easter is approaching, it isn’t too late to start wading in the water. Come and join me at the river—

“Enjoy The Journey Because, You’re Gonna Miss This” – The Challenge (Wk. 2)

You’re gonna miss this

You’re gonna want this back

You’re gonna wish these days

Hadn’t gone by so fast

These are some good times

So take a good look around

You may not know it now

But you’re gonna miss this

The above words are the chorus to country singer Trace Adkins’, “You’re Gonna Miss This”.  I’ll have to admit I get a little cHoKeD uP every time I hear this song or see the video.  It seems that we get so caught up in the future that many times we wish our lives away.

It’s so easy as you set out to accomplish a dream or make your life better in some way to get too focused on the destination and not EnJoY tHe jOurNey.  I can speak from experience that I don’t always “stop and smell the rOsEs”.  Maybe your life is far from perfect and to be perfectly honest, a big mess.  Maybe you are eyeing some pretty big challenges or seemingly impossible dreams that will take some time to overcome or achieve.

Remember this:  regardless of where you are on your journey, this is your OnE LiFe, the only one you get.  So take the time to enjoy the sWeeT PleAsuRes along the way because many of them are not permanent fixtures, but rather fleeting vapors.

What are the simple pleasures in your life?  A dear fRieNd?  A job you love, but that doesn’t pay that great?  Good health?  Relationships with family and friends?  Your children?  I know for me, I it will be a sad day when those flip flops get put on the right foot (and between the right toes!) 100% of the time.

The point is that where ever you may be on your journey, if you look around you can see GoD’s liTtLe  bLeSsinGs.  Embrace them, enjoy them, and savor them, because some day, you’re gonna miss this.

P.S.  A book that I really like regarding this topic is, “Enjoying Where You Are On The Way To Where You’re Going”by author Joyce Meyer.  In it she specifically talks about enjoying our self, as imperfect as we are, while God is changing us.  Not an easy thing to do.

“The Challenge”

How would you like to begin the JoUrNeY towards your dream, not only with cheerleaders on the sideline, but also with others who are pursuing their DREAM as well?  “The Challenge” is just that.

In this six-month endeavor there will be weekly tools to help you through the many steps of accomplishing a dream.  You will be given input on beginning sTrOnG; overcoming inertia; dealing with adversity, setbacks, and failure; persevering in the face of discouragement; how to find the resources and accountability you need; and just plain ‘ole encouragement and  support.

There will be SuCcEsS stories of others who have endured and ultimately overcame.  You will be challenged, motivated, and inspired.

We realize that all dreams do not have a six-month time line.  You may reach your goal in two months and if you do, that is awesome!  Mission accomplished!!  However, we know that many dreams take much longer to achieve than just a couple of months or even six months and we want to provide the necessary resources to help you on your journey.

At the end of the six months, you may still have a long way to go, but you will be six months closer to reaching your dream.   If you are finally ready to take the L E A P, “The Challenge” can help you fulfill your dreams and your purpose.  We hope you will join us in “The Challenge” and look forward to reading your success story!

Kick-start your dream by filling out the packing list now!!
